ZERØ ceramic bearings have ceramic balls and steel races. The balls are Grade 3, Silicon Nitride (Si3n4). The races are treated with a black oxide coating, which helps prevent rusting in the bearing. The races are then reground to a mirror finish after this treatment. Finally, they are cryogenically treated for strength before assembly. We also use Silicone VV seals, which is the lightest drag seal available on the market.
Si3N4 balls with 52100 High carbon Chromium Alloy Races with Cryogenic Treatment: Cryogenic treatment takes the races down to minus three hundred degree Fahrenheit to normalize the crystalline structure of the material so the races will resist the hardness of the ceramic balls and get the maximum wear potential.

A great quality bearing despite the considerable price. I’m not sure that I personally needed such a high quality bearing but it was the promise of longevity and it’s ability to outperform cheaper bearings that swung my decision.

These bearings are excellent and very easy to install. They run very smoothly and are silent; too early to comment on durability but I followed the manufacturers instructions so they should last a long time. The service from Wych was amazing, with them arriving the next day.

Bike came fitted with ceramic bearings which last 2 yrs ( Scottish summer) had cheaper ones fitted and they lasted a few mths. So I have opted for these , fast delivery, fitted and time will tell. Always super fast delivery in normal carriage.
It's nice to be able to talk to a someone in person to make sure I have the correct bearings. My bike is now running as smooth as ever.
